In 1992, 12 basketball icons were selected to compete for a gold medal in the summer games. That summer, the team was celebrated as the greatest sports team ever assembled. Their impact on the game remains a pivotal milestone that influenced the global growth of basketball.
The team played 8 tournament games, but it was the spirited practices that the players remember most. One practice in particular, MJ says was the greatest game he ever played in. From MJ’s perspective, you had the best competitors, competing in a closed gym, striving towards a common goal. 10 of the best players in the world, but the stage was set for “MJ” vs “Magic”.
As the tensions settled down & the team reflected on practice, MJ walked into the room, turned to Magic & said, “There’s a new sheriff in town.” The room erupted with laughter.
Basketball historians refer to the scrimmage in Monte Carlo as “The Greatest Game Nobody Ever Saw.” The game represented the “changing of the guard” happening at that time within the league. Magic symbolized the old school. Meanwhile, MJ embodied the new generation.

"I first heard about it when I was 10 or 11, just from doing my own research about my dad. I’ve always been a student of his legacy. There have always been rumors, and I think that even back in ‘85, after that weekend, there was chatter of the “freeze out.” I just did my own research and got myself familiar with the details. Growing up, there were conversations my father and I had, yet I never thought that years later, I’d be referencing some of them for a collaboration with the brand."

“I wanted our 1st iteration of a 1-14 Retro to be something special & memorable...It was important for the design to be authentic & unique, so I incorporated all of the colors from the original trophy room in our house into one of my favorite silhouettes, The Jordan 5.”
- Marcus Jordan
The model features ice blue, sail & red colors with subtle hints of gold that truly make this pair a trophy. Marcus also designed a counterpart red pair featuring Nike Air branding for friends & family only, limited to 223 pairs & not available for release.

The TROPHY ROOM™ XVII boasts a cool grey suede & metallic gold color way that ties back to the boutique's overall theme & aesthetic, transforming an already sleek shoe into a luxurious sneaker that can be styled off the court, while still performing on the court. The Air Jordan XVII'S original design inspiration was influenced by three components; The fine details from an Aston Martin, the smooth lines and flow of a jazz solo and the long Air Jordan history of innovations in style.

The TROPHY ROOM XVI resonated so well with me because of the premium details incorporated in the model. The patent leather toe, the icy sole, the premium leather used on the shroud. All of those elements truly make this silhouette a classic. For TROPHY ROOM to lead the return of the XVI with help from DJ Khaled is an honor. - Marcus Jordan

The inaugural collaboration from Jordan & TROPHY ROOM. The model features Michael Jordan's handwritten signature pattern in an exclusive color way. The White TROPHY ROOM XX3 is limited to 523 pairs w/ each pair individually numbered.
